The goal
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will have the competence to:

The target group
According to Section 8 of the Regulations on Qualifications and Certificates for Seafarers, the following personnel may complete and pass the approved safety training course for seafarers on small vessels:
a. Seafarers serving on passenger vessels with a gross tonnage of less than 300 operating in domestic waters (Area 1).
b. Seafarers serving on cargo vessels with a length (L) of less than 24 metres operating in sheltered coastal waters or more restricted trading areas.

Prerequisites
"Participants must provide documentation of previously completed Safety Training for Seafarers on Small Vessels or other approved safety training.
If the competence has expired, participants must document at least 12 months of sea service combined with a valid proficiency certificate or course completion. Sea service is calculated within the five-year period preceding the start date of the new course."
